We had a birthday party for my grandson yesterday. He’s 4 now!
I had to do some last minute shopping and was at the dollar store buying some table covers, balloons etc.
As I was walking past the books, I saw Mitch McConnell’s book as well as Dana’ Perino’s book (Fox News) stalwart.
I had been trolled by my partner about how Hillary Clinton’s book was being sold for as cheap as 98 cents about 6 months or so ago.
So, I bought the books. I gave them to him when I got home with an “I want you to know that you’re never far from my thoughts, even when I’m out and about.” I followed up with a thought about how Hillary was in terrible company, but at the end of the day, most politicians were maybe worth about a dollar on average.
He took it as gracefully as he could considering that it met a larger audience of Bay Area folks at the party. One heard “Why is xxxxxx reading a book by Mitch McConnell? Who would do that?”
I think it might have been the best $2 I ever spent.
