I know of someone who once won a nice out of court settlement against Trader Joe’s for homophobic sexual harassment.
The one in Salem I used to go to seemed like it went out of it’s way to be multi culti…sometimes it felt like you were walking into one of those old Benneton ads Not easy to do in a smaller town whiter than Portland.
I don’t much care about what they label their food, it’s #1 Lame white people humor, like “Sinko de Mayo”.
White people are gonna be white. I don’t get upset by it, but do roll my eyes at home when I see it. It’s also the thing my people make fun of when we’re together. Like “That’s sooooo white.” So, we laugh at it more than anything.
However, that they are digging their heals in for that? Dumb.
