Disagree. Men experience targeting things as a pleasurable act in and of itself. I am not a hunter but I enjoy shooting a rifle or handgun. I am certain that I would enjoy skeet shooting as well.
I see little difference between target shooting, shooting hoops, passing a football, sinking a putt or throwing a strike.

PS, don’t people do target shooting to practice actually hitting something that moves? And do some people who play basketball also use the ball to kill deer or to ward off home invasions?

So the kids family isn’t racist. There is no evidence of an anti black upbringing. The kid even had a coon friend. His friends say that up until recently he never showed any signs of being racist. Target shooting and killing things are two separate acts. They need not go together.
Just for the record: Many weapons rely on hand held projectiles such as rocks, spears(knives) and such. Think javelin competition and baseball.
