Whoa, at least by this pic, Viv was well above average in the looks category.
But nobody cares when Nick Fury is played by Samuel L. Jackson.
I checked out other pics of her. Very pretty.
And, clearly, she was passing.

I posted this story on another forum and found a Texan woman who evidently knows a lot about Vivian. Her take is that she was a Texan woman who was White on her birth certificate and graduated from an all white high school in TX. “Her father was Italian, her mother was of mixed race. Being in Texas I would have to say maybe Mexican, maybe black who knows, doesn’t matter.”
By TX standards you were either mostly white or mostly not, and evidently the demarcation was somewhere around the 70% mark. But in Alabama you were either white or colored, and the “mostly” part was demarcated at about 95%. I think the Old South was mostly like that.
She looks black.
