Went to the mountains to beat the heat yesterday, over 20 degrees cooler at Trillium Lake, Mt Hood National Park.

You should drive up to Timberline sometime, neat views up there. And it’s a nice drive.

can you hike to the top of the mountain?

Not driving. But the lodge is pretty high up. And you drive right up to it.

Are there trails to hike/climb to the top?

You can ski on the Palmer ice field near the top, if Tiny Lady hasn’t melted it yet.

I saw that the other day, I thought it was a big water slide… looks scary, I’d kill myself.

Does look a little scary

These things are CRAZY fun.

I like that last shot. You need to re-shoot that one with orange sunset kissing the mountain and a few clouds in the sky. Too bad about all that man made crap along the shore.

What a day, split this beauty with my roomie and we went hiking up the mountain, omg I didn’t make it to the top… it was too hot… we were almost there but I was fucking dying lol. It’s like 3 miles up and 1500 ft of elevation gain… We got to about 1400 and there’s no shade up near the top and I had to go. I will return on a cooler day during the week sometime and complete the hike.

I got a few more pics but waiting for my phone to catch up…

Awesome adventure, and as Ted Bundy could have fabulously said, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey”

eta, imho, Oregon is the best country in America.
