So I just watched the PBS Special on yer Woodstock, i am of the generation that must have listened to the Woodstock Album hundreds of times hanging out at a buddies house, or at house party or kegger or whatever. and of course I’d heard the Max Yasgur speech too, but hearing it again in the context of who he was, a successful conservative minded small town dairy farmer that voted for Nixon (probably) and supported America’s efforts to stem communism in SE Asia, just thought it was a neat idea for a bunch of kids to get together and have 3 days of fun and music and nothing but fun and music.
