The Revenant

Stupidest movie ever. Historically and geographically inaccurate to the point that it wasn’t enjoyable.

I watched the trailer and it looked dumb. I guess if Leonardo DeCrapio is in a movie it automatically is a fukking masterpiece.

Could you briefly elaborate?

Try “Man in the Wilderness” , 1971. Same story, based on the same events, and fantastically better done. And Richard Harris’s acting could use diCaprio as a stage prop.

Most of the movie was shot in the Rockies, featuring fighting with the Arikara (Ree) Indians. The expedition that the movie was based on didn’t make it to the Rockies and the Arikara were northern plains Indians. The supposed real account of Hugh Glass did involve the Arikara, but it was on the plains. Also, the depiction of the French raping the Indian woman was all wrong, they got along with the Indians and intermarried with them. The French did complain about their portrayal in the movie.

Are you suggesting that you know better than the people voting for the Academy Awards? The arrogance.
