Where were thee, in '63?

I remember the sense of awe I felt walking home from school very early as a 1st Grader, when a 3rd Grader explained to me that “The President was even bigger than our Principal”…My Dad was 6’2" and our Principal was taller than Dad! Then there weren’t any cartoons or anything good on TV like forever!

I wuz twenty. The firm I worked for was auditing one of the state penal institutions, and three of us had driven up to the state capital (Springfield( to do some stuff about that. We were given a room in the law library of the state office building, and a secretary from the DMV whose office was nearby had a radio…she would stick her head in the door periodically and give us updates. But it was pretty obvious early on that his goose was cooked.
