She was strong, she was invincible, but death ain't no way to treat a lady

Had a college friend who was her guitar player for a handful of years starting in the late seventies. Think he’s still alive, barely seventy years old, and now lives in L.A. instead of Chicago. Even in college he was a 3rd generation guitar player who always had a band, always had gigs even when everyone else was starving. Only heard him play blues once in college, he looked down on the form as being too sophomoric for a jazzman like himself, but he could play anything and would do so if there was a buck in it. God knows I heard him play GLORIA dozens of times. Really good guy back then, but it’s been years since we were in touch.
