If a horse on the cusp of winning the Triple Crown doesn’t win the Belmont by 31 lengths or in 2:24 what’s the big deal?
They should just show a rerun of the 73 Belmont instead of the live one and see how many people think it happened again.

I know it was. It was like 2.5 times bigger. Still, no horse will ever touch that time or victory in lengths. Nobody pays any attention to the horse Sham whose only sin was running in 1973. Sham would have set track records in the Derby and Preakness if Secretariat didn’t run first place and set his own. In any other year Sham had a chance at his own Triple Crown
