In 1907 Glenn Curtiss set a world speed record, 136 mph, on this V8 bike. Although Mercedes-Benz broke that record ten or twelve years later, it remained the record for bikes until about 1931. Just imagine 136 on the back of this MF.

The fastest I ever went on a bike was about 95 on a big Beemer with the big fairing, and I felt like I could almost launch that thing into orbit. 136 on that bicycle must have been very interesting.
