My grandson was pouting a bit about having his screen time monitored. So not fair.
I told him that when I was 7 there were no tablets, Switches, video game systems of any kind, there certainly were no laptops, cable tv or desktops.
He looked absolutely appalled and wanted to know what I did. I rode my bike, skated, climbed trees…he interrupts and says “What?! That’s dangerous!” (climbing trees part) I said I climbed up and then climbed down, I didn’t jump out.
We also played hide and seek, tag, hopscotch…
I think being tied to screens when you’re a little one is a shame.
