I Have Been Planting Some Trees

My only regret is that I don’t 2 or 3 acres to give to my trees. I have planted:

  1. Revival American Chestnut tree.

  2. Two different types of grape vine. I am working on an arbor.

  3. Two American Black Walnut trees. I live on one of the ‘Walnut’ roads.

  4. Two types of Pecan tree.

I love that. Americans, especially if they believe in climate change, would be planting more trees.

We can use shade to reduce our use of air conditioning and electricity.

And they are beautiful.

I got them from this place:

I used them before

A word of advice on grape arbors. When “they” recommend X feet of trellis per vine, they’re not kidding. Allow that much and more.

Tanks for the tip. :slightly_smiling_face:

I boldly went where I had never gone before. I plan on growing the grape vines in 5 gallon buckets this year. I clearly need to do some research.

Another factor is where one lives. CT was basically farm land up to about a hundred years ago and the state had very few trees. When farming ended the trees returned, brought back by the birds and the bees and squirrels etc… It’s amazing how large a pine tree can get in only 40 or 50 years.

What I like about planting my own trees is that I can pick the variety that I like, like the Revival American Chestnut tree.
