I thought it was funny. I was mocking the mayoe of Boston. 
Interesting. Here in our county government center, once a year, the East Asian employees would host a Lunar New Year party. It was nominally open to everyone, but they made it clear and were dismissive of other cultures, Latino, South Asians, Blacks, Caucasians…they made you feel unwelcome.
One of the County Executive directors was Chinese, after he retired, it was stopped.
I don’t know how they got away with it for so long.
Everyone should be welcome.
